Abstract

The article discusses the lipid contents of celastrus paniculatus seed oil. It says that there are about 100 species of shrubs belonging to the celastrus genus found mainly in Asia, China, Japan Australia and North America. The study found a 46% of crude oil presented in the celastrus paniculatus seeds. Apart from other chemical components, the seeds contain triacylglycerol (TAG), free fatty acids (FFA), diacylglycerol (DAG), esterified sterols (STE) and monoacylglycerol (MAG).
