Abstract
- The article reports that a weed resistance to the foliar-applied hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD)-inhibitor herbicides in central Illinois has increased the concerns of the Southeastern farmers due to the similarities of water hemp and Palmer amaranth. It notes that the increase in cotton acreage could be attributed to the frequency of herbicide use. It adds that corn was also a valuable rotation crop for cotton and peanuts which could play a key role in weed resistance.
