Abstract: The article discusses a robotic system that is designed to contain water-surface oil slicks from oil spills. Operational aspects of the Airborne Robotic Oil Spill Recovery System (AEROS) are described including the rate at which the system can collect spilled oil. A prototype system is being built for testing by developer Global Response Group.
