Abstract

The article explores the Physician-Assisted Suicide (PAS) among persons with disabilities. The Oregon Death with Dignity Act that was passed in 1994 and was adopted by Washington in 2008 are some examples that legalizes PAS. Disability rights advocates strongly opposed legalization of PAS as it discriminates persons with disabilities because it creates a double standard for people with disabilities whether it is terminal or not. Political thinker Felicia Ackerman argued that PAS should only be administered to people who have a low quality of life.
