Abstract

The article presents a research on measuring and then comparing absolute Raman cross sections of explosives in both the solid state and in solution. It is stated that, Raman cross section is being used despite the fact that Raman spectroscopy is highly specific in differentiating between different types of molecules because, Raman scattering is a fairly weak phenomena, and consequently suffers from low signal.
