Abstract

The article presents a study that tests whether cold aortic flush and chest compressions will improve neurologic outcomes after cardiac arrest in pigs, as compared to conventional resuscitation. Twenty- four female pigs were part of the study wherein experimental protocol was approved by the institutional animal investigation committee. It concludes the feasibility of the preservation and resuscitation by deep cerebral hypothermia with chest compressions and improvement of neurologic outcomes.
