Presents research which studied the effects of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) in patients with chronic heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy. Methods; Findings; Significant increase in left-ventricular mass in such patients given rhGH but without improvement in clinical status; Changes in left-ventricular mass due to changes in serum IGF-I concentrations; Unknown impact of longer treatment period with rhGH.
