Abstract

Presents a rabbit model with arterial intimal thickening induced by direct intravascular and intranasal inoculation with Chlamydia pneumoniae. Aim of establishing a causative relationship between C. pneumoniae and atherosclerosis; Role of C. pneumoniae infection in inducing acceleration of atherosclerosis in a mildly hyperlipidemic rabbit model.
