Abstract

This paper describes a hardware implementation of a two-way converter logic by which conversion between numbers from positive to negative binary representation is possible. Index terms : (i) Negative radix, (ii) Positive radix, (iii) Two-way conversion. <BR> The present paper describes a hardware implementation of a slight modification of a scheme earlier presented by Krishnamurthy (1971). The interesting feature is that this converter can take an input (or give an output) in positive or 2's complement positive binary form as compared to the sign magnitude form by Zohar (1971). For carrying out two-way conversion, it is sufficient to switch a single level to a high or a low. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
