The wildlife picture index, monitoring and conservation.

The author comments on a paper about a biodiversity indicator called wildlife picture index (WPI) by T. G. O'Brien et al. published in the August 2010 issue of the periodical "Animal Conservation." He asserts that O'Brein et al. have presented WPI as a reasonable approach for monitoring medium and big-sized birds and mammals in various habitats, with special attention on tropical areas. He also discusses several topics that may be worthy of additional consideration when implementing the said biodiversity indicator.
