Three Groups Submit Applications For Race to Top Assessment Grants.

The article reports on the plans that the SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortium, the Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers consortium and a smaller educational consortium made of 13 U.S. states, have to submit applications for $350 million of U.S. federal financing contained in grants in the U.S. Race to the Top educational initiative program. The aims and objectives of the Race to the Top program are examined.
