Abstract

The article offers poetry criticism of the work of 14th-century French poet and royal administrator Eustache Deschamps. Poems noted include "Ballad 123," "Ballad 124," and "Ballad 285." It is said that Deschamps's poetry is similar to that of the Ricardian public poets in England through his use of persuasive rhetoric. His thought on classical rhetoric is addressed.
