Abstract

The article focuses on the phytogeography of Heterostemma deccanense, a climbing plant specie that belongs to the family Asclepiadaceae, commonly found in the forests in Peninsular India. It discusses the Heterostemma deccanense's distribution, its geographic distribution map, as well as ethnobiological significance in treating kidney problems. It adds that Heterostemma deccanense has been categorized under the endangered and probably extinct species in the Red Data Book of Indian Plants.
