Abstract: The article discusses a study to examine the various results in patient health with regards to the treatment of anterior cervical spine fusions. It states that anterior cervical decompression and spine fusion (ACDF) is a common procedure, but that little information about related health effects are available. The study analyzed information between 1990 to 2004 from the National Hospital Discharge Survey, choosing 771,932 records. A list of conditions resulting from the procedure is presented, based on age and other factors.
