Abstract

The article reports on the results of a study which evaluated thickspike wheatgrass accessions with seed quality, seed production, and rhizome spread. The accessions used in the study came from Alaska, Canada, and the U.S. Characteristics of thickspike wheatgrass include its potential to suppress some weeds and its ability to withstand defoliation better than bluebunch. The impact of plant establishment on soil stabilization is also noted.
