Making an Impact--Students Improving Patient Care.

The article discusses the importance of the proper training of student pharmacists by qualified and licensed pharmacists to improve patient care. A study conducted at Indiana University Medical Center found that pharmacy students contributed significantly to cost avoiding and cost saving in a health system. Among the factors that must be considered by a preceptor to better prepare student pharmacists are one's skill set, critical thinking and communication skills.
