This article deals with the mutation of social, economic and cultural representations and practices around the coffee crisis (of the grain) and coffee industry crisis (socio-cultural crisis) from 1987 to 2003, in the territory of the "Coffee Zone". The frame of the content of this text is a study titled "Coffee crisis and regional context in the departments of Caldas, Risaralda, Quindío and Northern Valle del Cauca" carried out in 2003 by the Research Group Territorialidades belonging to the Universidad de Caldas.
