Abstract

The article presents a study on the association of drug burden index (DBI) and physical function in older people. The burdens of anticholinergic and sedative drugs were calculated on each ambulant participant to gain the sum of the burdens of the medication. Results show an exposure to sedative and anticholinergic drugs, while the association between DBI and physical function was not noted. It says that the only association noted was the longitudinal sedative exposure to impairments in balance.
