This paper analyses the meaning of some technical words used by Quevedo in his works. These terms are studied looking them up in dictionaries or books of the period. The analysed words are: hidropesía; hígado; hipocrás; metales, producto del sol; mitridático; Mizaldo; moco, superfluidad del cerebro; muelas de difuntos; muermo; muerte repentina; zarza and zurdo.
