- The article discusses efforts by Research in Motion Ltd. to encourage developers to create more apps for its BlackBerry smartphones. Factors that discourage developers include lack of standardization across Blackberry models, and a development toolkit that some software producers find unwieldy. Blackberry plans to introduce easier-to-use development tools, and will also debut an updated version of its online apps store.
