Abstract: The article reports that online book seller Amazon.com Inc. sharply reduced the price on its Kindle electronic book reader just hours after book seller Barnes & Noble Inc. (B&N) cut the price for its competing Nook device. B&N said it acted to attract a greater audience for electronic books, while Amazon withheld comment. Both firms have faced strong competition from household electronics maker Apple Inc.'s iPad tablet computer.
