Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the effectiveness and safety of three antipsychotics in the treatment of early-onset schizophrenia spectrum (TEOSS). A total of 116 youths age 8 to 19 years underwent an 8-week, randomized, acute trial of molindone, olanzapine and risperidone and standardized symptom and functional assessments were carried out every four weeks. The result show that the three treatment agents have no significant differences in time discontinuation or symptom decrease.
