Abstract

The article examines marketing of the brand name anti-impotence drug Viagra by the pharmaceutical industry firm Pfizer Inc. Sales of the drug, one of the most profitable in industry history, declined for the first time in 2009, forcing the company to raise prices. The effects of the loss of patent exclusivity in 2012, when Viagra will face competition from generic drugs, are discussed. INSET: Cialis Plans to Party On.
