Abstract
- This article discusses privacy issues related to automated global positioning system (GPS)-based surveillance. It offers information on an experiment done on collecting locational data from a number of volunteers and generating automated profiles about the individual, including home addresses, and social and work activities. It discusses legal precedents on the installation and monitoring of GPS tracking devices, mobility-pricing of insurance, and public surveillance.
