Abstract

Literature on the commercial applications of dielectric industrial drying is plentiful; however, literature on the computations required for estimating dielectric drying power requirements is sparse. Dielectric drying involves several complicated heat and mass transfer phenomena, including absorption of electromagnetic energy, transport of the generated heat, generation of internal vapor, and changes, and changes due to shrinkage. Furthermore, this process involves an assortment of computational expertise, particularly dielectric property characterization. This paper addresses the computational iterations required to estimate the power requirements for unit operation dielectric drying .The objective of the investigation is to explain the theory of the power interaction between dielectric and the drying material. The purpose of this paper is to describe the design calculations for heat energy using microwave power and finally the computation process is applied to corrugated board manufacturing case study to calculate the drying requirement.
