Abstract
- In this article the authors compare French and American newspapers. They note that conventional wisdom suggests that French newspapers advocate for positions along a political spectrum, while U.S. papers tend to be more detached and objective. According to a study cited in the article "What Makes for a Critical Press? A Case Study of French and U.S. Immigration News Coverage," by Rodney Benson, a professor at New York University, that is not the case. The research found the French newspapers more likely to have a variety of viewpoints on the immigration issue.
