Vendian and Silurian ophiolite-formation stages on the eastern slope of the Middle Urals.

The article offers information on the formation of ophiolites in different geodynamic settings including mid-oceanic ridges, marginal seas, and the eastern slope of the Middle Urals in Russia. It investigates the ophiolitic associations involving the interrelations between the crust and mantle, trace evolution of past oceanic and island arc structures. It reports that the new data collected in Urals reveals two stages in the ophiolite formation in this region including the Vendian and the Silurian.
