The investigations were carried out during 2006-2007 and 2009 in the experimental vegetable garden at the Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture. In 2006 and 2009 onion thrips Thrips tabaci Lind. emerged when leeks had 3-4 leaves, in 2007 - when leeks had 2-3 leaves, in second part of June. The highest abundance of T. tabaci was when leeks had 5-7 leaves. In 2006 the highest influence of temperature on abundance of onion thrips was observed on mid-early leeks 'Lancia', mid-late leeks 'Edison' and later leeks 'Sabina', the lowest - respectively on 'Starozagorski kamuš', 'Forenheit' and 'Natan' leek cultivars. In 2007 abundance of T. tabaci was highest during all the years of investigation. The influence of temperature on the abundance of onion thrips on the investigated different leek cultivars was weak and medium. In 2009 daily air temperature average had weak and medium influence on abundance of thrips on different leek cultivars. It was established direct correlation between abundance of thrips on the investigated of different duration of vegetation of leek cultivars and temperature: in mid-early cultivars influence of temperature on abundance of onion thrips was strong (r = 0.769), influence of temperature in mid-late cultivars was weak (r = 0.47, r = 0.37, r = 0.46), influence of temperature in mid-late cultivars was medium (r = 0.55).
