Abstract
- The article focuses on a statewide program in Michigan aimed to prevent catheter-related bloodstream infections (CBSI) in intensive care patients. The program provides an evidence-based checklist for clinicians who insert central venous catheters. Items on the checklist include hand washing, cleaning the patient's skin with chlorhexidine and removing unnecessary catheters.
