Abstract
- The article describes a case of Erdheim-Chester disease (ECD) in a 45-year-old man with a 10-year history of chronic renal failure due to renal polycystosis. The disease is said to cause the nearly pathognomonic osteosclerosis of the limbs, though its aetiology is unknown. The case indicates that mononuclear cells (MNC) may be obtained from ECD lesions which may be used for dissecting the pathogenetic mechanisms of the disease.
