Abstract

The two chief problems common to all industries involved in the production of colour are colour formulation and colour tolerance. This article reviews the solutions to them provided by colour science and discusses their practical limitations. <BR> A number of industries, for example textiles, paint, paper, plastics and photography have a major interest in the production of colour. Each has its own special problems in the field of colour science but the two chief problems that are common to all are colour formulation and colour tolerance. The present article discusses the techniques at present used by the colour scientist in attempting to solve these problems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
