Abstract

The article presents a study which aim to develop a mathematical model for describing the transmission of syphilis among gay male. It notes that increasing the frequency of testing of highly sexually active gay men is more effective means of reducing the epidemics of syphilis. It states that the most effective intervention which can have an important impact in the epidemiology of the disease is contact tracing the regular partner of the infected person.
