The article presents a profile of the Unitarian minister Reverend Alfred Hobart and his contributions to the African American civil rights movement of Birmingham, Alabama during the 1950s and 1960s. Details are given overviewing Hobart's early career in social work and then his tenure as minster of the Birmingham Unitarian Church from 1953 onward.
