Abstract

Discusses a study which determined whether consumption of an oral essential amino acid-carbohydrate supplement before exercise results in a greater anabolic response than supplementation after resistance exercise. Mean arterial and venous phenylalanine enrichments and arteriovenous difference in enrichments in pre and post trials; Mean blood flow and delivery of phenylalanine to the leg; Mean arterial insulin levels.
