Abstract

The article presents several suggestions to improve the next edition of the graphic displays of the National Healthcare Quality Report and State Snapshots in the U.S. It cites the characteristics of an effective display and its purpose which includes exploration, calculation and communication. It recommends to use the dot charts instead of the bar chart because dot chart looks cleaner than the bar.
