Abstract
- Palladium/activated carbon (Pd/C) catalyzed hydrogenation of 9,10-diphenylanthracene (DPA), used as a coal-related model compound, was investigated under microwave irradiation. The effects of reaction temperature, pressure, and time on DPA yield were studied. The results show that DPA hydrogenation proceeds at much lower temperatures and hydrogen pressure under microwave irradiation than those by conventional heating and Pd/C mainly promote ipso hydrogenation of DPA. The related mechanism was discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
