Abstract
- The article presents a study on the impact of tree shades on the energy consumption of residential houses in Auburn, Alabama. It states that the researchers used hedonic model as the analytical framework in 160 residencies in Auburn based on monthly electricity consumption. It concludes that tree shade reduces the electricity usage of an average house depending on the percentage of shade coverage of a house compared to those with no shades.
