Abstract

Effective teambuilding is a critical aspect of management. The concept of appreciation of differences through understanding personality types and female/male developmental theory adds previously unexplored dimension to teambuilding. The authors present a teambuilding model using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and female/male developmental theory. <BR> This article describes the blend between the MBTI and developmental theory, using the thinking/feeling functions of the MBTI as a bridge to developmental themes of men and women. A model of teambuilding that combines these two areas is provided. The purpose of the article is to provide a guideline that fosters success for the individual within the organization and ultimately allows for success of the organization by promoting the appreciation of differences.
