Keeping sphingolipid levels nORMal.

In this article the author discusses two studies on the role of Orm proteins on regulated sphingolipid level. The author states that the findings by S. Han and colleagues and conclusions by D. K. Breslow and colleagues have discrepancy as their suggested sphingolipid level reduction upon Orm overexpression also reduces ceramides that may compensate other regulatory mechanism. Meanwhile, he says that the molecular mechanisms on how they detected sphingolipids in their findings are unclear.
