Abstract
- In this article the author reflects on how the patterns of democratic representation in India have changed over the past 60 years. According to her, the representation of the lower castes in the parliament has increased but the upper sections of the bureaucracy do not fully reflect the caste and religious diversity. She criticizes the representation in Indian democracy and claims that the limitations of policy outcomes have not been considered.
