Abstract
- This article discusses Japan's perspective on its relationship with China and the United States with regard to maintaining peace, stability and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific area and in the world. The article notes that the three countries have their own national interests and different views about human rights and other basic values, but Japan is especially concerned about China's expansion plans and its efforts to develop a navy that would protect territorial claims to the seas. China's territorial plans are a concern to Japan because they have staked claims to international waters.
