Abstract: The article reports that Goldman Sachs Group Inc. was surprised when it found out that a civil action against the financial firm had been filed by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. Although Goldman Sachs was aware of the investigation, they had expected to be given a chance to resolve the matter before being sued.
