Abstract
- The article focuses on the Students Preparing for Academic and Research Careers (SPARC), a mentoring program introduced by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in 2004. It was aimed at providing for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing research-oriented careers. Program was one of several responses to the shortage of PhD-level scholars in communication sciences and disorders.
