Abstract
- The article focuses on the contributions of former newspaper "The Gazette" editor Steve Buttry, who won the Editor of the Year award from the periodical, to the newspaper industry. Buttry was one of the first to adopt social media in news gathering and presentation. He also created his Complete Community Connection (C3) that aims to promote the role of newspapers in the community during its coverage of the flood that struck Iowa in June 2008. He also advocates the use of blogs in news coverage.
