Abstract
- The article offers information on how archaeologists choose a digging site. It discusses how excavations are planned and how the authors navigate the bureaucratic process to secure an excavation permit. The article also discusses how to raise the money and how staff and volunteers are enlisted. Focal to the article is the Tel Burna site in Israel where the authors collected pottery, flint tools and stone vessels. They also mapped burial caves, agricultural installations and architectural features.
