Abstract
- Abstract: This study examined the factor structure of the acute stress disorder scale (ASDS; ), a self-report measure for acute stress disorder (ASD). The study was completed 6 to 10days following an earthquake; it included 353 Chinese earthquake victims (173 women, 180 men; mean age=29.36, SD=11.45years). The results of confirmatory factor analyses indicate that a 4-factor model (dissociation, reexperiencing, avoidance and arousal) is consistent with the conceptualization of ASD, which is defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder-Fourth Edition (DSM-IV). Implications and limitations for the results are discussed. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
