Fate of manuscripts declined by the British Journal of Surgery.

The article presents a study which investigates when and where the manuscripts submitted to the "British Journal of Surgery" (BJS) are published after they have been rejected. The study identified the rejected 2006 manuscripts from the Manuscript Central electronic database and PubMed search was carried on through author's last name to determine if the papers are published in another journal. The result shows that 65.8% out of 926 rejected manuscripts were published in 198 different journals.
