Abstract

The article presents a study on the effect of brisk walking on energy intake, appetite, and appetite-stimulating hormone acylated ghrelin. The study was participated by 14 healthy young men who performed eight-hour brisk and control walking trials. It states that participants did brisk walking for one hour in the brisk walking trial, which commenced on a level-motorized treadmill, and rested for seven hours while they were requested to rest for the whole duration in the control trial. Furthermore, their appetite was assessed by offering them ad libitum buffet meals two times during the trials. The study discovers that brisk walking had no significant impact on appetite, acylated ghrelin, and energy intake despite the induced moderate energy deficit.
