Abstract

The article presents a study which compares the life expectancy between women with screen-detected invasive breast cancer and those invited to breast cancer screening program in Nijmegen, Netherlands (comparison group). It states that survival analyses were done to compare life expectancy differences. Results show that life expectancy of screen-detected invasive breast cancer and comparison group are similar while women with larger tumor diagnosis decreases and is modified by screening history.
