Abstract

The article presents a case study of a 33-year-old woman who was referred for assessment of abnormal liver enzymes and diarrhoea to determine the diagnostic challenges of glycogenic hepatopathy. The physical examinations showed a diffusely tender abdomen while the ultrasound tests found fatty infiltration of the liver and liver enzyme elevation that led to a liver biopsy. The patient had normal liver enzymes and improvement in glycaemic control with HbA1c 9.3% during a 12 month follow-up.
